Windows Compatibility
Trezor Suite supports all modern Windows versions including Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11. Both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures are supported.
System Requirements
- Windows 7 SP1 or newer
- 50 MB free disk space
- Administrator account access
- USB 2.0 or 3.0 port
Download and Install
First, download the Windows installer (.msi file). Then follow these steps:
Installation Steps
- Locate the downloaded .msi file in your Downloads folder
- Right-click and select "Run as administrator"
- Click "Yes" when User Account Control (UAC) prompts appear
- Follow the installation wizard
- Trezor Suite installs automatically to Program Files
- USB drivers install during setup
Post-Installation
After installation completes:
- Check system tray for Suite icon
- Suite service starts automatically
- No restart required
- Proceed to connect your device
Windows-Specific Issues
Windows Defender SmartScreen
If SmartScreen blocks the installer, click "More info" then "Run anyway". Trezor Suite is safe and digitally signed.
Driver Problems
If Windows doesn't recognize your Trezor device:
- Open Device Manager (Win + X)
- Look for unknown devices
- Reinstall Trezor Suite to update drivers
- Try a different USB port
Firewall Configuration
Windows Firewall should allow Suite automatically. If blocked:
- Open Windows Defender Firewall settings
- Allow an app through firewall
- Add TrezorSuite.exe (usually in C:\Program Files\Trezor Suite\)
- Enable for both private and public networks
Windows 11 Specific Notes
Windows 11 users should note:
- Compatible with both x64 and ARM64 processors
- Enhanced security features fully supported
- Works with Windows 11's new USB stack
- No compatibility mode needed
